Rp 620 billion funding from SMI strengthens SUN Energy’s projects in commercial and industrial markets

Jakarta – Renewable energy developer SUN Energy has secured Rp 620 billion in funding from PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) or PT SMI to support the development of solar energy projects in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, SUN Energy said in a statement on Sunday, December 22.

The 15-year financing aims to strengthen SUN Energy’s position as a major player in Indonesia’s solar energy market while supporting national ambitions in the clean energy transition. This financing facility will be used to finance new project construction and support the completion of ongoing projects.

SUN Energy President Director Emmanuel Jefferson Kuesar revealed that the cooperation with PT SMI allows the company to remain innovative and responsive to market challenges. He emphasised that this financing facility will provide the flexibility needed to accelerate the development of new projects.

“This funding is a vote of confidence in our vision to bring renewable energy solutions to Indonesia. With PT SMI’s support, we are expanding our project reach and setting new standards in applying environmentally friendly and sustainable solar technology,” said Emmanuel.

PT SMI sees this cooperation as part of its long-term commitment to supporting Indonesia’s energy transformation. The Rp 620 billion funding is expected to accelerate the construction and operational process of solar energy projects throughout Indonesia. SUN Energy targets to increase solar energy capacity that can be accessed by the commercial and industrial sectors, which are the backbone of the economy.

“Solar energy is not only an environmentally friendly energy solution, but also an economical and efficient choice for the commercial and industrial sectors. With this support, we are optimistic that we can accelerate the adoption of clean energy in the national market,” Emmanuel added.

This strategic cooperation not only strengthens SUN Energy’s position in the renewable energy market but also becomes a concrete step in supporting sustainable energy transformation in Indonesia. (Hartatik)
