Jakarta—Shares of companies with renewable energy businesses listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) tend to be less vibrant on Thursday, December 5. Of the seven stocks of renewable energy issuers, three closed in the red zone, three stagnated, and only one ended in the green zone.
The shares of renewable energy issuers closed in the red zone on Thursday’s trading, namely PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA), which closed down 2.76% at level 141, PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk (KEEN) fell 0.8% at level 620, and PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) weakened 1.5% at level 985.
The renewable energy stocks that ended stagnant on Thursday were PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO) at 955, PT Semacom Integrated Tbk (SEMA) at 87, and PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk (TGRA) at 17.
The only renewable energy issuer that closed in the green zone on Thursday was PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN), which gained 0.33% at 7,500.
BREN shares rise significantly after news of interim dividend distribution
On Wednesday, December 4, the shares of renewable energy issuer PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) soared and closed at 7,475, or 9.93% higher. Thus, BREN shares strengthened 13.25% in the last month from 6,600 on November 4, 2024.
The shares of the Prajogo Pangestu conglomerate strengthened after the company’s management announced plans to distribute IDR 506.15 billion in interim dividends for the fiscal year 2024.
Launching an information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Barito Renewables Energy’s management said that the distribution of interim dividends was the result of a circular decision of the board of commissioners based on the decision of the company’s board of directors on December 2, 2024. “The company will distribute an interim dividend of IDR 506,158,757,575, or IDR 3.78334 per share,” wrote BREN’s management announcement on Tuesday, December 3.
Management stated that the interim dividend will be paid to investors whose names are registered in the company’s register of shareholders on December 13, 2024. The dividend payment will be made on December 20, 2024.
Barito Renewables Energy recorded a profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent entity of USD 86.06 million as of the third quarter of 2024. The net profit increased 1.88% from last year’s period, which was USD 84.47 million. (hs)
