Renewable energy stocks fall, BREN holds IDX Composite in freefall

Jakarta—In early week trading on Monday, November 11, Most shares of issuers with renewable energy businesses ended in the red zone. Of the seven shares of renewable energy issuers listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), only two ended in the green zone, while the other five ended weak.

Two shares of renewable energy issuers closed higher today: PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA), which closed 0.75% higher at 135, and PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN), which strengthened significantly by 7.27% at 7,375.

BREN shares continued strengthening at the end of last week and helped keep the Indonesia Composite Stock Price Index (IDX Composite) from falling further, only slightly by 0.28% to 7,266.46.

BREN shares were green when the group’s owner, Prajogo Pangestu, joined the Indonesian tycoons who participated in President Prabowo Subianto’s first foreign trip to China.

The shares of renewable energy issuers that were reddened today were PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO), which fell 1.93% to 1,015; PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO), which fell 2.91% to 1,000, and PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk (KEEN), which fell 0.78% to 635.

Then, PT Semacom Integrated Tbk (SEMA) shares fell 1.22% at level 81, and PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk (TGRA) lost 4.76% at level 20. (hs)
