Renewable energy stocks extend losses on Wednesday, April 9

Jakarta—Renewable energy stocks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) mainly closed lower on Wednesday, April 9, as selling pressure continued across the board. Five stocks declined, while only two posted gains and one remained unchanged. The Indonesian Composite Price Index (IDX Composite) closed lower by 0.47% to 5,967.988.

PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) recorded the largest loss of the day, plunging 10.34% to 4,250. PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) followed with a 10.43% drop to 103, and PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO) declined 1.81% to 815. PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk (TGRA) fell slightly by 3.13% to 31.

On the other hand, PT Hero Global Investment Tbk (HGII) bucked the trend with a 0.68% increase to 147, and PT Semacom Integrated Tbk (SEMA) rose 2.63% to 78. PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk (KEEN) closed flat at 650, while PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) gained 0.65% to 770.

Compared to the previous session on April 8, Wednesday’s trading showed continued weakness in major stocks like BREN and OASA, extending their losses. BREN dropped another 490 points after falling 760 points the day before, while OASA declined 12 points for the second day in a row.
