Renewable energy stocks end week on a positive note – Friday, May 2

Jakarta—Renewable energy stocks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed mostly higher on Friday, May 2, with gains in four stocks, three remaining unchanged, and only one declining. The Indonesian Composite Price Index (IDX Composite) closed higher by 0.72% to 6,815.73.

PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) led the gainers, rising 1.25% to 6,100, followed by PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO), which gained 2.22% to 920. PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) edged up 0.55% to 915, and PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk (TGRA) rose 2.78% to 37.

PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk (KEEN) was the only stock to decline, slipping 0.60% to 835. Meanwhile, PT Hero Global Investment Tbk (HGII), PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA), and PT Semacom Integrated Tbk (SEMA) all closed flat.

BREN recorded the highest trading value at over Rp 69 billion, while OASA saw the highest trading volume, with more than 57 million shares exchanged. The market’s upward close reflected steady investor interest in clean energy stocks heading into the weekend. (nsh)
