Remote, disadvantaged households gets 50% discount for new power connection

Jakarta – People living in the forefront, outermost, and disadvantaged areas only need to pay half to get a new power connection until the end of 2024. This promo is part of the ‘Giving Light to Build the Country’ program implemented by state-owned electricity company PT PLN (Persero) for disadvantaged households to get 450 Volt Ampere (VA) connections installed.

Executive Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo said, the purpose of this large discount is to open access to affordable electricity connection for poor households, as well as provide justice to all Indonesian people in getting access to electricity and part of an effort to accelerate the 100% electrification ratio.

PLN Director of Retail and Commerce Edi Srimulyanti said, this discount program for connecting new electricity pairs applies to prospective customers who are registered in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS). “This promo is only valid for connecting customers who do not require network expansion or only need a house connection and installation of a kWh meter,” she said this week.

Srimulyanti said the normal fee for connecting 450 VA power is IDR 421,000 (about USD 28). With this program, customers only need to pay IDR 210,500 (USD 14). Prospective customers can take part in this program by submitting an application via PLN Mobile, or the PLN 123 call center. (Hartatik)
