Jakarta – PT Lotte Chemical Indonesia (LCI) works with PT PGN Tbk, Pertamina’s Gas Subholding, to fulfil its natural gas needs until 2029. The two companies entered into a gas sales and purchase agreement for the absorption of natural gas amounting to 2.62 – 10.5 BBTUD.
General Manager of PGN Sales Operation Region II, Sony Rahmawan Abdi, said natural gas from PGN will be used for boiler fuel, with the main product being ethylene. PGN will build metering regulating stations (MRS) gas distribution infrastructure and gas pipelines to LCI’s boiler for gas by June 2024.
“This is a form of PGN’s commitment to expand the distribution of natural gas to industry. LCI is a new plant, we hope that with a large enough volume of demand, it can be absorbed optimally and useful for production,” Sonny said in an official statement.
LCI is part of the South Korea-based Lotte Chemical Corporation group of petrochemical companies. LCI’s petrochemical plant can fulfil domestic and global petrochemical demand. (Hartatik)
