Jakarta – Throughout the first semester of 2022, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, has drilled 14 exploration wells. Director of Subholding Upstream Exploration Medy Kurniawan said in a written statement, Monday (18/7), the status of the 14 wells is 7 of them completed and 7 other wells are still ongoing.
He said PHE has plans to drill 29 exploration wells throughout 2022, spread throughout the region under the auspices of the company. “From this exploration, we managed to find oil and gas resources scattered in the Sumatra, Java and Kalimantan Subholding Upstream Regions,” Kurniawan said.
He said, Subholding Upstream Pertamina as the largest national upstream oil and gas company in Indonesia has three strategic initiatives in exploration which are the key to the sustainability of the upstream oil and gas business.
“Currently, PHE as Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding has been registered in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) as a participant or member since June 16, 2022,” said Kurniawan.
PHE is committed to the ten universal principles or ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in its strategy and operations, as part of the implementation of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) aspects.
Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding has a strategy to improve upstream oil and gas performance with various policies as a series of transformation efforts towards national energy security. (Hartatik)
