BREN’s shares hold IDX Composite from free fall

Jakarta – Shares of PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN), strengthened significantly towards the end of trading today, October 2, after almost all day weakening and touching a low of 6,375. The shares of this renewable energy issuer finally closed up 2.57% at the end of trading and entered the ranks of top gainers.

The strengthening of BREN shares held back a deeper fall in the Indonesia Composite Index (IDX Composite). As of 16:00 WIB, the IDX Composite closed down 1.03% to 7,563.26.

The trading value of Barito Renewables Energy shares Wednesday reached IDR 402.34 billion. Meanwhile, BREN’s market capitalisation value reached IDR 933.16 trillion.

On the other hand, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that it is examining the share transactions of PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) in depth. OJK Executive Head of Capital Market Supervision, Derivative Finance and Carbon Exchange Inarno Djajadi, revealed that this examination includes the potential for quasi-trading or market manipulation.

Inarno said in his statement, “If there are proven violations, OJK will carry out strict law enforcement in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. ” In addition to inspection actions, in monitoring stock transactions, including BREN, Inarno said OJK analyzed stock price movements according to procedures.

The procedure in question applies to detect any impropriety in stock trading. (hs)
