Jakarta—The Indonesia Composite Index (IDX Composite) closed higher to 7,466.83, or 0.47%, in early week trading on Monday, August 19. Thus, JCI reached its highest level ever or its latest all-time high.
The shares of PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) were the main driver of the IDX Composite to record the new high. In today’s trading, the shares of Prajogo Pangestu’s conglomerate closed 5.14% higher to 9,200. Barito Renewables Energy shares were also among the most actively traded today, valued at Rp 319.2 billion.
And since the beginning of the year until today’s closing, BREN shares have strengthened by 23.08%.
Barito Renewables Energy posted an increase in net profit in the first semester of 2024 by 0.5% to USD 58 million from USD 57.6 million in the same period the previous year. The increase in profit was influenced by the increase in ownership in Salak-Darajat.
Meanwhile, the company’s revenue for the six months of 2024 reached USD 290.1 million with an EBITDA of USD 247.9 million. (hs)
