OASA establishes new subsidiary to expand renewable energy portfolio

Jakarta — PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) has established a new subsidiary, PT Bumi Mentari Nusantara, as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in Indonesia’s growing renewable energy sector.

The company said that the subsidiary was officially established on May 12, 2026, with a total capital of Rp9.9 billion (USD 561,000). OASA holds a controlling stake in the new entity, owning 9,900 shares, according to a disclosure submitted to the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Corporate Secretary Chandra Devikemalawaty told idxchannel.com that the move is intended to support the company’s core business activities, particularly in biomass energy, green industry development, waste-to-energy management, and smart technology applications.

The company added that the establishment of the subsidiary has not had any material impact on its operations, legal standing, financial condition, or business continuity to date.

The creation of PT Bumi Mentari Nusantara marks OASA’s latest step in expanding its renewable energy footprint. The company already operates several entities in the green energy space, including PT Maharaksa Energi Hijau (MEH), which serves as its primary vehicle for renewable energy project development.

Earlier in 2026, a 20% stake in MEH was acquired by PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI), signalling growing investor interest in OASA’s clean energy portfolio.

Meanwhile, PT Maharaksa Kapital Indonesia (MKI) continues to function as the group’s investment holding arm, overseeing a number of green energy initiatives, including control over MEH.

The establishment of the new subsidiary reflects OASA’s ongoing efforts to diversify and scale its renewable energy business, amid rising demand for sustainable energy solutions in Indonesia. (nsh)
