Jakarta – In support of the government’s policy regarding the stability of airfares during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, PT Pertamina (Persero) announced a reduction in Avtur prices at 37 airports in Indonesia. This policy will come into effect on 18 March 2025 and last until 15 April 2025.
Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, in a statement on Tuesday, 4 March, said that this step is part of the company’s commitment to support the smooth running of air transportation, significantly ahead of the Lebaran homecoming period.
“As a state-owned enterprise, Pertamina strives to ensure that the supply of energy, including Avtur, remains fulfilled and smooth during the homecoming period. This price adjustment is expected to help reduce airline operating costs and positively impact airline ticket prices,” said Fadjar.
The Avtur price adjustment policy is based on analysing aviation fuel demand trends, which have increased significantly at 37 regional airports. Pertamina also considers the dynamics of global oil prices and domestic market conditions to maintain business sustainability and support the national aviation industry.
In addition, Fadjar stated that price evaluations will continue throughout the policy period.
“We ensure that this decision maintains a balance between business sustainability and the community’s needs, especially during important moments such as Ramadan and Eid,” he added.
With this initiative, airlines can adjust their operational cost structure to make domestic flight ticket prices more stable and affordable for the public.
“We hope this policy can provide real benefits for the aviation industry and the wider community who want to travel by air during the homecoming season,” Fadjar concluded. (Hartatik)
