Jakarta—PLN Nusantara Power supplied 635.52 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean energy to the national electricity system amid the increasing demand for electricity during the holy months of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 H. According to PLN in its official statement on Thursday, 10 April, this step marks the company’s success in supporting the green energy transition while maintaining the stability of electricity supply during crucial moments.
The surge in electricity consumption during Ramadan, especially during suhoor, iftar, and takbiran night (night before Eid), optimises environmentally friendly plants spread across Indonesia, in line with PLN Nusantara Power’s commitment to maintaining system reliability.
“During Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2025, we maximised the operation of new renewable energy-based plants such as PLTS and PLTA. The total green electricity distributed reached 635.52 GWh,” said PLN Nusantara Power President Director Rully Firmansyah.
PLN NP supplies clean electricity and implements a 24-hour nonstop monitoring system and full standby protocol during Ramadan until the long Eid holiday. All operational units are alerted to anticipate the field’s load spikes, technical disturbances, and emergency needs.
This step is crucial so that people can worship, stay in touch, and enjoy Eid celebrations with a sense of security and comfort without worrying about electricity disruptions. “We are preparing all our resources, both technical and operational. This is a form of PLN NP’s responsibility to ensure the community’s quality of life, especially at important moments like this,” added Rully.
To ensure that the electricity transition continues smoothly after the long holiday, PLN Nusantara Power has prepared a supply capacity of 13,731 megawatts (MW) from generating units spread throughout Indonesia. This is part of PLN NP’s long-term strategy to ensure national system reliability while continuing to encourage an increase in the renewable energy mix.
“We are not only talking about reliability, but also the future. We continue to strengthen renewable energy development to ensure clean and sustainable electricity for future generations,” said Rully. (Hartatik)
