​​Pertamina starts distributing 35 per cent biodiesel

Jakarta – Pertamina has started to market 35 per cent biodiesel (B35) products, after going through the research and feasibility test stages. Pertamina claims that biodiesel B35 can provide better performance for vehicles, and can be one of the right solutions for and can overcome the climate crisis by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Area Manager of Communication, Relations and CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional West Java, Eko Kristiawan said Pertamina has prepared a series of facilities for stockpiling, receiving, blending and quality control. This B35 product has also taken into account all aspects, such as vehicle power, engine, and combustion chamber.

“The launch of the B35 product is in line with the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia No. 208.K/EK.05/DJE/2022 dated 28 December 2022 regarding the Implementation of Biodiesel-B35 Products. This is Pertamina’s commitment in distributing environmentally friendly energy,” Kristiawan said in an official statement.

The use of B35 is also expected to accelerate inclusive, clean, sustainable energy and encourage investment to achieve Net Zero Emissions. Furthermore, he said for the distribution of B35 in the Western Java Regional area, there are six terminals namely Balongan Integrated Terminal, Tanjung Gerem Fuel Terminal, Cikampek Fuel Terminal, Bandung Group Fuel Terminal (Padalarang & Ujung Berung) and Tasikmalaya Fuel Terminal.

“All Pertamina terminals can consign alternative-emergency pattern products that distribute B30/B35 products according to product needs at the end terminal. For the Jakarta Integrated Terminal, the implementation of the first distribution of B35 is expected to start on 01 August 2023,” Kristiawan said. (Hartatik)
