Semarang – A total of 201 mobile fuel storage units were placed at public gas stations during this year’s Eid homecoming, an increase of 40% from the last year.
Marthia Mulia Asri, Senior Supervisor Communication and Relations of Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java, said the fuel units are in the form of fuel tank trucks with an average capacity of 24 kilo litres (kl), as a backup fuel supply for gas stations.
“One of the crucial points this homecoming season is in Central Java. The existence of mobile storage is to ensure fuel supply at gas stations,” she said, a week before Eid.
As for the Central Java region, eight mobile storage units are on standby. Pertamina uses the command data centre that has mapped gas station points along the homecoming route to efficiently place mobile fuel units at gas stations.
She said the projected peak fuel consumption this year is almost the same as last year, at 200 kl gasoline, while normal consumption is around 50 kl.
Pertamina has also prepared additional Pertamina modular gas station kiosks along the central Java toll road, in anticipation of a surge in fuel demand in the middle of the toll road section. Pertamina has prepared 150 dexlite jerry cans with a capacity of 750 litres. (Hartatik)
