Jakarta—Due to a continuously strengthened infrastructure network, more than 6 million customers of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN)—ranging from household users to the industrial sector and generating utilities—enjoyed a reliable gas supply during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
PGN’s Director of Infrastructure and Technology, Harry Budi Sidharta, said on Tuesday, 15 April, that successfully meeting gas demand was the company’s top priority during the standby period.
“We have distributed natural gas to more than 5,800 commercial, industrial, and small customers, as well as 813,000 household customers and power plants, including PLN Group. All supplies are carried out through a pipeline network of more than 33,000 km, with the support of 16 SPBG, MRU, and three integrated LNG Terminals,” Harry said.
During the operational period of the 2025 Ramadan and Idul Fitri Task Force (RAFI Task Force), the average gas trading volume recorded reached 788 BBTUD, up 22.7% compared to the previous period. To anticipate increased demand in areas more difficult to reach by pipelines, PGN has also increased LNG regasification capacity at FSRU Lampung – PLI, Nusantara Regas, and Perta Arun Gas by 551 BBTUD, up 41.6% from the previous year’s Satgas RAFI period.
In addition, PGN also supported the transportation sector by distributing BBG, reaching 18,020 litres of premium equivalent, an increase of 2.1% from the previous period. This ensured that energy needs for mobility were not disrupted during the homecoming period.
To provide optimal service, PGN has activated Pertamina Call Centre 135. During this period, 527 cases were resolved, demonstrating the company’s commitment to prompt customer support.
“We are proud of the performance of the RAFI Task Force team, who managed to keep the gas supply stable during this important period. This is clear evidence that we can support the energy transition and people’s welfare through infrastructure strengthening and operational synergy,” said Harry.
PGN continues to expand its gas distribution system as a strategic step to support national energy availability and ensure that all sectors – from households to industries – receive reliable, affordable, and environmentally friendly energy services. (Hartatik)
