More than one million vehicles using subsidised fuel are registered

Jakarta – By the end of August 2022, more than one million units of motorised vehicles have been registered in the Appropriate Subsidy Program. These motorised vehicle users register through the ‘MyPertamina’ application to get quotas for subsidised fuels such as Pertalite and Solar, Pertamina officials said, Monday (5/9).

Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting, said that through this application the distribution of subsidised fuel could be more closely monitored and also prevent misuse. The reason is how many vehicles that consume pertalite and diesel fuel can be recorded. “Pertamina needs to record the consumption of subsidised fuel so that its distribution can be more closely monitored and prevent fraud or abuse in the field,” he said.

Ginting said, even now the focus is still on registration and socialisation to ensure the readiness of the system and operations in the field while continuing to monitor the progress of the revision of Presidential Regulation No. 191/2014 which is the reference regulation for determining the distribution of subsidised fuel.

According to existing data, the percentage of vehicle types using pertalite is almost 70 percent. Meanwhile, the number of registered vehicles using subsidised diesel has increased to more than 30 percent.

“From this data, pertalite users who register are still dominated by private users. As for diesel, the composition is quite balanced, between private users and public transportation,” said Ginting.

In order to further increase the number of registrants, he said, Pertamina Patra Niaga also continues to add direct registration booth points. For people who have internet and mobile access, online registration is also guaranteed to have no problems through the website subsiditepat.mypertamina.id and the Right Subsidy menu in the MyPertamina application.

“There are more than 1,300 offline registration booth points spread throughout Indonesia, the location can be checked directly via https://mypertamina.id/location-pendaftaran-offline-bbm-subsidi-tepat. In addition to encouraging people to register, we also ensure that the verification process runs optimally so that the process can be carried out on time,” said Ginting, adding that people who feel they are entitled to subsidised fuel should immediately register their vehicles. Pertamina Patra Niaga is also currently testing the readiness of QR Code verification at several points.

“In the future, this Appropriate Subsidy Program will be synergized with the regulation on the distribution of subsidised fuels determined by the Government. This is a step by the Government and Pertamina in ensuring that fuel subsidies are more targeted, as a form of protection for people who are entitled to enjoy fuel subsidies, and vulnerable people who really need energy at affordable prices for their needs,” he said.
