Jakarta—Shares of renewable energy companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) mainly closed lower on Friday, February 7, with five stocks declining, two remaining unchanged, and only one recording a gain. The Indonesian Composite Price Index (IDX Composite) continued a downward trend and closed lower by 1.93% to 6,742.576.
Leading the losses, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) plunged 19.94% to 7,025, marking the sharpest decline of the day. PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO) followed, slipping 4.21% to 910, while PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk (KEEN) fell 3.08% to 630. PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) dropped 1.66% to 890, and PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk (TGRA) edged down 2.22% to 44.
On the positive side, PT Hero Global Investment Tbk (HGII) was the sole gainer, rising 1.08% to 188. Meanwhile, PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) and PT Semacom Integrated Tbk (SEMA) remained unchanged at 147 and 90, respectively.
Trading activity was highest for OASA, with over 128 million shares exchanged. The broader weakness in renewable energy stocks reflected prevailing market uncertainties as investors reassessed their positions. (nsh)
