Renewable energy stocks mostly decline as ARKO, OASA fall – Wednesday, May 28

Jakarta — Renewable energy stocks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) mainly closed lower on Wednesday, May 28, with five stocks declining, one gaining, and two finishing flat. The Indonesian Composite Price Index (IDX Composite) closed lower by 0.36% to 7,172.904.

PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO) led the losers, falling 2.31% to 845, followed by PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA), which dropped 4.14% to 139 despite being the most actively traded stock by volume with over 74 million shares.

PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) also declined by 1.14% to 6,500, although it recorded the second-highest transaction value at over Rp 65.7 billion. PT Hero Global Investment Tbk (HGII) and PT Semacom Integrated Tbk (SEMA) slipped 1.14% and 1.12%, respectively.

On the upside, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) gained 0.37% to 1,350, with the highest transaction value exceeding Rp 101 billion and more than 75 million shares changing hands.

PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk (KEEN) and PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk (TGRA) ended flat at 830 and 36, respectively.

The market reflected profit-taking across the board, except for PGEO, which maintained strong momentum on continued investor interest. (nsh)
