OASA bucks trend as renewable energy stocks end mostly lower – Thursday, July 24

Jakarta — Shares of renewable energy companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed mostly lower on Thursday, July 24, with five stocks declining, two remaining flat, and only one advancing. The Indonesian Composite Price Index (IDX Composite) closed higher by 0.88% to 7,534.806.

PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) was the sole gainer, rising 2.09% to 195, supported by a robust trading volume of over 60 million shares and a transaction value of Rp 11.5 billion.

In contrast, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) led the losses, falling 1.28% to 7,725, despite recording the day’s highest trading value at Rp 159 billion from more than 20.3 million shares traded.

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) also declined, shedding 2.14% to 1,600, with over 69 million shares changing hands across more than 11,000 transactions.

Other decliners included PT Kencana Energi Lestari Tbk (KEEN), which slipped 1.20% to 820; PT Semacom Integrated Tbk (SEMA), down 1.16% to 85; and PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO), which edged down 0.51% to 985.

Meanwhile, PT Hero Global Investment Tbk (HGII) and PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk (TGRA) ended unchanged at 157 and 27, respectively, with TGRA again recording no trading activity.

The overall session reflected weaker investor sentiment across the clean energy sector, with heavyweights PGEO and BREN both retreating. (nsh)
