Jakarta – Indonesian government will use the G20 Summit momentum to realise cooperation with the UK, the Ministry of Investment said in a written statement Friday (27/5). The signing is a follow-up to the previous meeting during a working visit by Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia to meet British Investment Minister Lord Grimstone in London, England, last March.
Lahadalia conveyed this during a working visit to Davos, Switzerland, this week. He said that the Ministry of Investment representing the Indonesian government is ready to cooperate with the British government related to investment. “We will sign the cooperation agreement when the G20 Bali 2022 Summit takes place next November,” he said.
According to Lahadalia, the cooperation between the two countries will have a positive impact on increasing two-way investment and encouraging mutually beneficial added value. The scope of the cooperation between Indonesia and the UK will cover three priority sectors, namely the downstream nickel mining and other minerals that generate added value, new and renewable energy (NRE), and the health industry.
In response to this, Lord Grimstone approved the plan to sign a cooperation which will be carried out at the upcoming G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia. “I am happy to meet Minister (Lahadalia). We really need to monitor and implement this cooperation between the Indonesian and British governments,” said Grimstone. (Hartatik)
